Terms of Service
Last updated: June 17, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Reckon ("Reckon," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Reckon.
What Reckon is — and what it is not
Reckon is a decision-support tool. It helps you organize financial records, trace funds across accounts, and produce a tracing memo to discuss with your attorney. Reckon is not a law firm, is not a substitute for an attorney, accountant, or financial advisor, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Nothing Reckon produces is legal, tax, or financial advice. Always verify results with qualified professionals before relying on them or filing anything with a court.
Accuracy and no warranty
Property tracing depends on the documents you provide and on automated parsing, which can be incomplete or wrong. We make no guarantee that any balance, classification, apportionment, or memo is accurate or suitable for your situation. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all outputs.
Your responsibilities
- You have the right to access and upload the documents you provide.
- The information you enter (dates, account details, classifications) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You keep your account credentials secure and are responsible for activity under your account.
- You will not misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reckon and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the service — including any legal or financial outcome. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
Termination
You may stop using Reckon and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or its users.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts located in California.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
